2025 Greater New Orleans Science and Engineering Fair

“Mentor = someone who gives help or advice”

Did you have a wonderful mentor for your science fair project?  It could be a teacher or someone outside of school who made a difference in your research and inspired you to learn more.  If so, please complete this form by NOON on Wednesday, February 19th, 2025. Winners will be announced at the GNOSEF Awards Ceremony.

The James de la Houssaye Mentor Award is sponsored by Mr. H. Britton Sanderford and recognizes a mentor for their educational and inspirational work with high school students pursuing STEM inquiry.  The top winner will receive a $1,000 cash award.

Graduate Student Mentor Request Form

The GNOSEF will provide assistance for student whose schools have affiliated for the 2025 GNOSEF and who would like to have project help from a Tulane Graduate Student in the School of Science and Engineering. Please complete the form below and a GNOSEF representative will contact you.

GNOSEF Prior Approval Request Form

Teachers must submit the below GNOSEF Prior Approval Form for each project that needs prior approval. In addition to submitting the below form, one file (for each project) with all required forms needs to be uploaded on box.com with the naming convention LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME_REASONFORPRIORAPROVAL.pdf where LASTNAME is the student’s last name, FIRSTNAME is the student’s first name, and REASONFORPRIORAPPROVAL is the reason for prior approval (HUMANSUBJECTS, VERTEBRATEANIMALS, PHBA, HAZARDOUSCHEMICALS, or OTHER).

Please do not submit more than one project’s documents in a file, as projects are reviewed by different members of the SRC depending upon the reason prior approval has been requested.  Instructions for uploading documents to box.com are here.

PROJECTS REQUESTING PRIOR APPROVAL MUST BE SUBMITTED BY OCTOBER 11, 2024 TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE 2025 GNOSEF. FINAL APPROVAL OF ALL PRIOR APPROVAL PROJECTS NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED BY DECEMBER 4, 2024.

It is important to complete this form for EACH student, including those working in a team. Once projects are submitted for your school, you will receive a spreadsheet of your entries to confirm your submission.

In addition to this online registration, one file (for each project) with all required forms needs to be uploaded on box.com with the naming convention LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME_CATEGORY.pdf, where LASTNAME is the student’s last name, FIRSTNAME is the student’s first name.  GNOSEF Categories can be found herePlease submit forms in order (Abstract, Form 1, 1A with research plan, 1B, etc.) and do not submit more than one project’s documents in a file.

Greater New Orleans Science and Engineering Fair (GNOSEF) 2025 Special Award Donor Form

Special awards provide a unique opportunity to recognize a student, teacher or school for outstanding work related to your interest or industry. These awards also provide motivation for further investigation in these areas. Individuals and organizations provide their own award wording and judge(s), and a representative is invited to present the award to the recipient at the Awards Ceremony. Awards may include such items as certificates, cash prizes, gifts, trips, school grants and student scholarships.  Existing award descriptions may be found on our AWARDS page. This recognition is much appreciated!
