… judge a science fair!
The 2025 Greater New Orleans Science and Engineering Fair (GNOSEF) will be held from February 17- 24, 2025 and we are in need of judges! The fair is open to 6th-12th grade students in Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard and Plaquemines parishes.
Category judging will take place in person on Tuesday February 18th and Wednesday, February 19th. Grand Award judging will take place on Wednesday, February 19th and Thursday, February 20th over Zoom.
JUDGE QUALIFICATIONS:
Judges in the senior division are required to have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree. Undergraduate college students are welcome to help judge the junior division (6th – 8th grade) projects in their degree field.
If you are available to judge, please register online indicating the category or categories that you are willing to judge (categories are listed on the registration form). We will need at least 2 judges for each category and up to 5 or 6 for categories with many entries. Your participation is not only important in determining the winners for the divisions, but also to provide what may be the first opportunity they have had to meet a scientist or an engineer. Many students decide to pursue a career in science or engineering simply due to the interaction they had with a scientist or engineer at an event like the science fair. This is your chance to engage with the K-12 community and make a difference in the life of a middle or high school student. Questions may be addressed to the GNOSEF directly.
If you are with an organization sponsoring an award and have questions about judging your award, please contact us at gnosef@tulane.edu.
We hope to see you at the fair!
