The Greater New Orleans Science and Engineering Fair, one of the oldest such fairs in the nation, awards more than $15,000 in cash and prizes to students each year.

Winners are eligible to advance to state and international competition where they compete for more than $3 million in cash and prizes.

Competition is open to any student attending middle school or high school in Jefferson, Orlelans, Plaquemines or St. Bernard Parish.

The Fair is sustained by Women for a Better Louisiana through many hours of volunteer work.

The event is open to the public.
