Greater New Orleans Science and Engineering Fair


To kick off the year, teachers are invited and strongly encouraged to attend the annual GNOSEF Teacher Workshop on Saturday, August 26th, from 9:00am to 2:00pm at Tulane University - Norman Mayer Room 101 (building 6 on the campus map). There is no charge, but you must register below by Wednesday, August 23rd, as lunch will be served and we need a head count.

The format will include an introduction to the GNOSEF plus the opportunity to attend 3 breakout sessions that allow participants to focus on their particular interest and need. Breakout session topics will include:


Integrating Experimental Design Into Your Classroom (including finding project ideas and information on incorporating the new standards)


Management of the Research Paper Process (with discussion of timelines)


Fundamental Ways to Analyze Data:  Basic Session - for Everyone! 


Fundamental Ways to Analyze Data:  Analysis of Data Recommended for High School Projects


Communicating Your Project: from Research Plan to final Abstract, Poster and "Elevator Pitch" Presentation (what the judges are looking for!)


the GNOSEF Process – Getting a Project on the Floor (with tips for tackling the human subjects or biological projects),
