Become a Volunteer

The 2017 Greater New Orleans Science and Engineering Fair (GNOSEF) will be held at University of New Orleans (UNO) on Feb. 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th, with the awards ceremony on Feb. 16th, and we could use your help as a volunteer!   For over 60 years, the GNOSEF has given area students an opportunity to apply and formally display methods of scientific inquiry.  The Region IX Science Fair is open to middle and high school students in Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, and Plaquemines parishes and is one of the largest fairs of its kind in the state of Louisiana.  It is much needed to encourage area students to pursue possible career interests in science and engineering, as it is well known that there is an upcoming shortage of college graduates in these fields.  We expect more than 350 students to participate in this year’s Region IX Science Fair, which will be held at the UNO Human Performance Center at 2000 Lakeshore Drive.
